Job Summary The Software Health Automation team owns the Kuiper Software lab and provides the lab as a fully managed service.

The role involves designing, building, and maintaining lab infrastructure to enable development, build, and test of code on real hardware.

You will be hands‑on in ensuring lab environments are highly available and scalable, working closely with software and hardware development teams, program management, and other stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software rapidly.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain lab infrastructure and test fixtures to verify software on real hardware.

Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity, especially as it relates to rapid test iteration.

Develop software tooling for operations to keep systems running and highly available.

Troubleshoot software and hardware problems on hardware equipment.

Drive adoption of best practices in code health testing and maintainability.

Participate in a 24×7 on‑call support rotation and travel for on‑site troubleshooting or project launch.

Qualifications

MS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in the same area plus five years of progressively responsible experience.

Multi‑threaded programming and distributed programming experience in Java or C on Linux.

Experience with JDBC, SQL, object‑oriented design, and design patterns.

Availability for travel and 24×7 on‑call support.

Strong knowledge of AWS CDK and AWS services configuration/deployment/maintenance and management.

Experience designing, developing, and deploying services in an internal‑facing organization.

Understanding of network topologies with IPv4 and IPv6.

Experience setting up and configuring Docker containers and deploying in a Linux/Unix environment.

Systems development experience in an IT or data‑center environment; automation and process improvement experience.

Designing or architecting reliability and scaling of new and existing systems.

Preferred Skills

Python/Java/Bash/Perl programming or scripting.

Experience with Kubernetes, ECS, or container management systems.

Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay: $50.00 – $56.00/hr.
