The Inventory Control Manager at Dogwood Industries plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, organization, and availability of materials to support production. Reporting to the CFO, the Manager has full responsibility for designing and monitoring effective controls over Dogwood's inventory – ensuring that the electronic records are in lockstep with physical movements from factory arrival to staging for manufacturing production. Having recently implemented our first ERP system and electronic inventory tracking to support the company's rapid expansion, this Manager has the rare opportunity to shape the department from the ground up according to industry best practices. They will be comfortable both on the inventory floor and in becoming an expert in the Visibility ERP system as they train and lead teams at the Everett and Sedro Wooley factories, processing $30M-$60M in inventory each year.
Duties & Responsibilities
Establish and execute inventory management strategies aligned with production and business objectives.
Develop, train, and maintain site‑wide controls for inventory transactions and material flow including accurate costs. Responsible for inventory receiving and material transfers to ensure production readiness. Ensure kitting and raw material inventory are aligned with Production BOMs.
Maintain data quality standards and enforce structured item master creation and maintenance.
Develop and maintain a robust cycle count program with KPIs and escalation pathways. Define and manage the process for investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
Own and analyze reports to identify inventory trends and opportunities for improvement. Provide actionable insights to executive leadership based on key inventory metrics such as turns, accuracy, and obsolescence.
Drive root cause analysis and implement long‑term corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
Hire, train, and evaluate Inventory Control staff. Foster career development for staff. Collaborate with other departments for cost‑effective cross‑training and resource sharing.
Collaborate with Procurement and Production Planning for effective handoffs between departments.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in inventory control management
Bias toward action
Multi‑site Manufacturing Experience Preferred
Strong understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain processes
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
