BACKGROUND:

The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), offering professional, part‑time graduate programs with over 6,000 students across 26 programs, delivered online and onsite in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.

Position Description The Johns Hopkins University invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator in the Center for Biotechnology Education housed within the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences' Advanced Academic Programs. The role is a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track, 12‑month renewable faculty appointment with the academic title of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. It can be fully remote or hybrid.

Salary Expected salary range: $80,200 - $109,000.

Academic Responsibilities

Teach six graduate courses per year.

Model teaching excellence using best practices.

Engage, advise, and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.

Develop and provide input on curriculum and new course development.

Participate on committees and attend academic events.

Administrative Responsibilities

Participate in faculty hiring and development process.

Assist in the planning of onsite and/or remote events and/or seminars.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in a life science, computer science, or engineering field with five years of experience after the degree.

One to two years of teaching experience online and/or at the graduate level.

Able to teach a wide variety of courses in the biotechnology field.

Preferred Qualifications

Terminal degree (Doctorate, Ph.D.) in a life science, computer science, or engineering field with research experience.

Three or more years of teaching experience online and/or at the graduate level.

Three or more years of work experience in the life science and/or biotechnology field.

Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
