Mid to Senior WordPress Web Developer – Enterprise Financial Institution

As the resident WordPress expert, you will take ownership of high-traffic corporate websites and lead generation funnels, driving innovation and ensuring performance, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for all WordPress‑related development, maintenance, and strategy.
Develop, customize, and maintain high-performance, responsive WordPress themes and plugins.
Ensure the security, scalability, and uptime of enterprise‑level, high‑traffic websites.
Collaborate with marketing teams to implement and manage lead funnels, landing pages, and A/B tests using tools like GTM, GA4, and Zoho.
Develop custom Gutenberg blocks using React.js to empower content teams.
Manage all technical aspects of the CMS, including plugin and core updates, version control via Git, and database optimization.
Build and maintain integrations between WordPress and other business‑critical systems (Salesforce, internal APIs, and marketing automation platforms).
Partner with software engineers to align on best practices, code standards, and deployment processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, from performance bottlenecks to plugin conflicts.
Skills & Qualifications
3–5 years of professional experience in WordPress Development.
Proven experience managing and scaling enterprise‑level, high‑traffic WordPress websites.
Expert‑level proficiency in PHP and deep understanding of WordPress architecture (hooks, APIs, etc.).
Strong experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative workflows.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
Proficiency with MySQL and strong database optimization experience in a WordPress context.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience with modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS preferred).
Experience with WP Env and Docker.
Familiarity with WP Engine for managing environments.
React.js experience for building custom Gutenberg blocks.
Hands‑on experience developing custom themes for Full Site Editing (FSE).
Extensive use of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) Pro for complex solutions.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated WordPress deployments.
Knowledge of WCAG and web accessibility standards.
