Salesforce's Employee Success (ES) team delivers world-class HR experiences powered by secure, scalable systems and data. The HRIS team plays a crucial role in enabling global workforce processes, partnering with DET/IT, Compliance, and HR leaders to safeguard data access, optimize system functionality, and troubleshoot complex technical issues. This role blends deep system expertise with operational problem-solving and strategic leadership.

Responsibilities Security Governance & Intake

Manage security intake and implementation across Workday and related systems, ensuring adherence to compliance and business requirements

Develop and maintain security & system governance models & processes (e.g., location management, segment-based access, support group structures)

Serve as the point of contact for escalations and stakeholder engagement related to access and provisioning logic for ES/core specific roles

Drive documentation and process improvement around user access, audit controls, and compliance protocols

Complex HRIS Issue Troubleshooting

Act as the primary Tier 3 escalation point for technical issues requiring deep understanding of business processes and system behavior

Replicate, diagnose, and resolve issues across modules such as Workday HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Time and Attendance, Reporting, as well as other HR systems including Beqom, Salesforce, etc.

Collaborate with DET/IT Platform and Product to escalates system bugs, propose fixes, or test configuration changes

Support root cause analysis and implement solutions or workarounds with appropriate documentation

Operational Planning & Project Support

Lead planning and execution of cutover and hypercare strategies for major projects, in partnership with Data Program Managers (if applicable) and Program Leads

Develop operational playbooks for system changes, including stakeholder alignment and support readiness

Anticipate downstream impacts of changes on Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3 and ensure seamless transition of support processes

Coordinate security and systems testing during UAT and go-lives

Governance & Strategic Collaboration

Represent HRIS in the ES Data Governance Council, contributing to decisions around secure data usage, system access, and process alignment in partnership with Office of Data, Privacy, Business Intelligence, and Legal

Partner with Global Ops to assess impacts of system changes on support models

Influence automation, tooling, and case handling strategies to streamline resolution paths and improve response quality

Partner with Product and Compliance to validate requirements and ensure secure, scalable delivery

An Ideal Fit:

Brings both a security mindset and systems troubleshooting expertise across the HRIS landscape

Understands global HR processes and how they are configured and executed in enterprise systems like Workday

Is hands-on with troubleshooting - comfortable with replicating, validating, resolving, and escalating issues as needed

Communicates clearly across technical and business audiences, driving alignment and accountability

Excels in environments where process, compliance, user experience, and system scalability intersect

Required Experience:

7-10 years of experience in HRIS, HR technology, or HR systems governance roles

Proficiency in Workday across multiple modules (HCM, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence, Security)

Demonstrated success in resolving complex business process or configuration issues

Strong understanding of system security (RBP/segment-based), audit, and compliance protocols (SOX/QAR)Experience supporting large-scale system implementations and operational cutovers

Desired Experience:

Familiarity with other HR tools such as Beqom, Salesforce/PeopleForce, or ticketing platforms

Experience managing cross-functional support models or collaborating across Tier 1-3

Exposure to GDPR, CCPA, or internal governance councils

Certifications in HR systems, security, or auditing (e.g., Workday Pro, CIPM, CISA)

Experience with Smartsheet, Jira, or system documentation tools

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $127,200 to $174,900. For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $127,200 to $174,900.
