About The Team The product team partners with chief engineers and program managers to derive a clear and succinct vision of Anduril products and capabilities. As a product illustrator, you play a crucial role in enabling customers and engineering teams to understand and align around how autonomy should work and support battlefield missions. Because Anduril is a fast‑growing company at the early stages of growth, team members must be resourceful, creative and eager to take ownership of complex matters.
About The Job Anduril is seeking a talented Product Illustrator to support the Air Dominance and Strike (AD&S) Division. The AD&S Division is organized into three primary business lines: Mission Autonomy ("Lattice" for MA), Autonomous Air Power ("Fury" product line), and Advanced Effects ("Barracuda" product line). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in visual communications design, service design, or illustration.
The position partners closely with chief engineers, subject‑matter experts, and product managers to visually convey autonomous concepts of operation (CONOPs). This role requires you to ask critical questions, understand the technology and the mission, and drive clear, standalone artifacts.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with chief engineers, subject matter experts and product managers to articulate their vision and narrative
Design clear and concise service blueprints, storyboards, engineering diagrams, and CONOPS illustrations
Create executive‑ and customer‑quality artifacts that convey a strong and concise narrative
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human‑computer interaction, interaction design, technical illustration, or service design
Highly respected among peers and known as someone who gets things done
Able to convey technical concepts and tell a visual story
Prior experience with user research and/or collaborating with stakeholders to distill design requirements/needs
Proficient in Figma and Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
Location: Based in Costa Mesa, CA or Washington DC
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience depicting technical engineering or tactical concepts visually
Experience creating and maintaining an asset library
Aptitude for translating technical or military material to a non‑technical or non‑military audience
Background in aerospace, defense, or industrial training programs
Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Design Portfolio Requirement All candidates must submit a design portfolio or complete a design activity for consideration.
US Salary Range $146,000—$194,000 USD. The salary range is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full‑time offers and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
