RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The position is temporary/PRN, working Monday through Friday. You will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images of patients, provide excellent customer service, and guide patients through the imaging process.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Screens patients before exam for precautions or contraindications, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
Explains and prepares patients for Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures, positioning patients appropriately.
Performs routine and advanced imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing support throughout the process.
Assesses, prepares, records and administers radiopharmaceuticals according to regulations and departmental policies.
Demonstrates safety‑related work behaviors to maintain a safe work environment.
Adjusts scan parameters correctly and utilizes dose‑reduction techniques as appropriate.
Maintains positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, associates, and peers.
Follows physicians’ orders precisely and adheres to safety regulations.
Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
Maintains an orderly, clean work area and promotes good safety habits.
Maintains the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects after each use.
Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
Nuclear Medicine Department Support
Performs and records daily quality control procedures on specified equipment.
Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys for radiation standards compliance.
Reports contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
Assists with training new associates, providing resource and technical expertise.
Additional Tasks Completes other tasks as assigned.
