Aecon is seeking a Director, Interface & Integration to join the Urban Transportation Solutions group to support dynamic transit projects in North America. As a Director, Interface & Integration, you will be accountable for ensuring all construction project management activities are successfully executed for major transportation rail/transit projects. What You’ll Do Here
Execute Systems Engineering processes to deliver successful project outcomes, including requirements management, interface management, validation and verification, configuration management and progressive assurance. Lead teams responsible for design, procurement, installation, integration, configuration, testing, and commissioning of transit systems. Lead the integration and interface of the Systems with civil structures, elevated guideways, tunnels, stations, O&M facilities, as well as with the existing rail transit systems in revenue operation. Ensure the various project/segment teams comply with the system lifecycle processes defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288. Manage multi-disciplinary internal engineering resources on the project. Manage the successful delivery of design and construction interface requirements. Effectively communicate expectations, track performance of engineering teams and subcontractors, and take proactive measures to address technical challenges. Engage with the testing and commissioning team at key stages to ensure success of the testing and commissioning program. Interface with the Systems Design Team and others to determine schedules, monitor design progress, support systems integration, and coordinate the procurement, installation and T&C activities. Provide oversight and support for various stages of systems testing. Support various transit related pursuits from the perspective of systems integration. Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging. What You Will Bring To The Team
Post‑secondary education in engineering, construction management, or equivalent discipline. Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in civils construction, track, buildings, utilities, M&E, or related disciplines. Proven experience managing large, complex rail or transit infrastructure projects in a client‑facing role. Strong communication skills. Highly organized with demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including superior skills in Excel. Professional business communication designations considered an asset. Sound judgment, highly developed interpersonal skills, well developed organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
