Nursing Director - Nursing Admin - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)
The Nursing Director holds 24‑hour accountability for patient‑care quality, operational efficiency and human‑resources management for the assigned unit(s). S/he assists the Chief Nursing Officer in executing the strategic plan and upholding organizational values.
Accountabilities include:
Achieving national and organizational benchmarks.
Adhering to state, federal and accrediting body regulations.
Advancing mission, vision, and objectives.
Advocating for the population served.
Disaster planning and emergency leadership.
Demonstrating competency in leadership and nursing practice.
Budget development, monitoring and effective resource allocation.
Exhibiting a professional and positive leadership image.
Meeting or exceeding patient, physician and client needs.
Essential Duties
Display understanding of governing regulations, Title 22, and JCAHO requirements while ensuring alignment with hospital standards.
Develop and implement a unit‑based performance improvement program compliant with regulatory agencies.
Identify and implement cross‑training initiatives and staff‑design changes to improve service delivery.
Involve in developing and monitoring the annual operational budget and analyze variances.
Promote effective communication and relationships among nursing, physicians and other departments.
Serve as a coach and mentor.
Implement shared governance management practices and customer‑service standards.
Coordinate and integrate department services at intradepartmental, interdepartmental and hospital‑wide levels.
Plan for provision of qualified, competent staff and maintain scope‑of‑service policies and procedures.
Monitor resources and space utilization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
5 years experience in a formal management position.
5 years experience as an RN.
Prior management experience in specialty area.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service.
Commitment to continuous quality improvement and results‑driven outcomes.
Ability to build credibility as a champion for patient care and nursing practice.
Organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to lead change while achieving business goals and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Specialty certification.
Required Licenses/Certifications
Registered Nurse – valid California license (RN, CA Board).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days and renewed prior to expiration.
Salary:
$158,080.00 – $260,832.00 per year.
