Senior QA Tester Healthcare Claims .

ALTA IT is seeking an experienced senior QA tester with a strong background in healthcare claims testing, specifically focused on 837 EDI transactions for a healthcare client. This role is responsible for developing and executing test plans, identifying and resolving software issues, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality systems. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of QA methodologies, healthcare claims processes, and has led testing efforts in Agile environments.
Responsibilities
Design and execute test plans and test cases for healthcare claims applications, including 837 EDI transactions.
Analyze business and technical requirements to ensure thorough test coverage.
Identify, log, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, and work closely with developers for resolution.
Lead testing activities across multiple projects and coordinate with cross‑functional teams, including offshore resources.
Mentor junior QA testers and provide support on test strategies and execution.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and data privacy regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered.
5+ years of QA/testing experience, including 4+ years in a senior‑level QA role.
Hands‑on experience with healthcare claims testing, specifically 837 EDI transactions.
Strong understanding of QA best practices, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
Proficiency with JIRA or similar tools for test case and defect management.
Experience collaborating with cross‑functional and geographically distributed teams.
Preferred Skills
8+ years of total QA experience across healthcare projects.
Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards.
SQL proficiency for data validation.
Experience with test automation tools is a plus.
Strong analytical, communication, and mentoring skills.
