Your role

Are you passionate about performing data-analysis and coding up improvements to complex algorithmic trading strategies? We are looking for a candidate with extensive knowledge of transaction cost analysis, execution algorithms and their components. Experienced in selecting and customizing trading strategies to fit investment objectives across geographies and investment types. Ideally, someone to analyze, adapt and improve the quantitative performance of UBS’s suite of agency algorithmic trading and smart order routing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Perform Transaction Costs Analysis (TCA) to minimize execution costs.

Design and specify new trading strategies, focusing on a subset of the client base that runs algorithmic wheel trading strategies.

Provide expertise to the firm’s clients on strategy selection and analysis to achieve desired customer investment goals.

Adapt algorithms to new markets, venues, order types, asset classes and regulation.

Perform thorough research on market microstructure and market impact analysis.

Communicate with internal stakeholders and external clients to understand business requirements and market trends.

Produce analytics and reports to monitor and benchmark trading performance internally and for clients.

Salary Information New York: salary range $225,000 – $242,500. The role may also be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. For benefits information, visit

Your Team The algorithmic trading team is responsible for risk management, product management, execution consulting, and product knowledge for anything related to electronic/algorithmic trading and low‑latency trading across global markets in the Americas. The team works across a wide range of stakeholders including Sales & Coverage, Sector Traders, Technology & Support, QAD, and Legal/Compliance. The role requires a strong trading/technology/analytical background with in‑depth knowledge of equity markets and microstructure.

Your Expertise

Ideally 5+ years of experience with Algorithmic Trading Strategies, Smart Order Routing and Data Analysis for single‑stock and portfolio trading.

Proficient in Kdb+/Q, Python, and Unix.

Knowledge of US cash equity market microstructure.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment, thinking on your feet and solving real‑time problems.

Series 7, SIE, Series 63 and Series 57 licenses preferred.
