We are excited to recruit a Vice President of Finance for a small, but growing, privately owned company in the entertainment industry headquartered in St. Louis. This company has a fun culture and unique service offering. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of career experience, an accounting foundation, strong team leadership and relationship building skills with a collaborative mindset, and significant FP&A/financial modeling, cash management, and leveraged finance experience.

The Vice President of Finance is accountable to the COO and ownership, managing key financial operations including accounting, treasury, financing, budgeting, risk management, and investor relations. In this senior executive position, the individual plays a pivotal role in guiding growth, boosting efficiency, and shaping capital strategy, with responsibilities ranging from construction financing and equipment asset management to overseeing multi-unit business structures.

Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy

Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the Company’s growth plans and investment goals.

Lead long‑term financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to support executive decision‑making.

Collaborate closely with sales and operational departments to understand expected costs and profitability on a contract‑by‑contract basis, enabling accurate margin forecasting and real‑time performance monitoring.

Partner with CEO, executive team, and sales/operational departments on budgeting, performance measurement, and capital allocation.

Financial Operations & Reporting

Oversee all accounting functions to ensure GAAP compliance, accurate financial reporting, and timely closing cycles within a privately held company framework.

Maintain internal controls and financial discipline appropriate for a company not currently subject to mandatory audits.

Manage multi‑business unit financial consolidation, including intercompany transactions.

Prepare the organization for potential future audit requirements by establishing scalable processes and transparent reporting.

Produce and manage detailed budgets across a multi‑unit business structure with significant inventory balances and distinct sales units.

Partner with the HR Director on payroll, 401(k), and workers’ compensation strategy to ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, effective internal controls, and alignment with company budgets and goals.

Capital & Treasury Management

Manage banking relationships, financing negotiations, and capital structure optimization.

Oversee equipment loan portfolios, tax incentive financing, construction & real estate financing, and lease agreements to optimize cash flow and leverage.

Maintain treasury functions, cash management, and risk mitigation strategies including insurance oversight.

Construction & Project Financial Management

Monitor and manage financial aspects of ongoing construction projects, including budget tracking, draw schedules with disbursement companies, and contractor payments.

Collaborate closely with project managers, general contractors, and owner‑provided subcontractors to manage cost control and dispute resolution financials.

Inventory, Equipment & Fixed Asset Management

Oversee complex inventory and equipment management across an intensive rental business model.

Monitor fixed assets from acquisition through depreciation, maintenance, and disposal with a focus on maximizing asset utilization and financial reporting accuracy.

Investor & Stakeholder Relations

Provide financial models, reports, and presentations to ownership group with the ability to deliver insightful financial communications.

Prepare financial models, investor presentations, and reports to support fundraising and partnership initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing finance and accounting team.

Implement scalable processes and systems to support growth and operational complexity.

Attendance Attendance is an essential requirement for this position.

Other Duties

To be determined by supervisor on a permanent or project basis.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of senior financial leadership experience, preferably CFO or Controller, ideally within equipment rental, production services, or construction‑intensive businesses.

CPA or MBA strongly preferred but not required.

Proven track record managing complex multi‑business unit organizations with significant fixed assets and construction financing.

Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial modeling, budgeting, and treasury functions.

Experience with loan structuring, negotiations with banks, and investor relations.

Strong leadership skills, ability to influence at all levels and build collaborative teams.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex financial concepts for diverse stakeholders.
