ABOUT THIS JOB Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Senior Production Automation Engineer to join our team. In your first 3-6 months, you'll focus on developing production line automation equipment for individual products. As you progress in the role, you'll take on larger projects designing, building, testing, and productionize factory systems that will be deployed across multiple production lines and locations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design and implement high-volume production automation systems
Develop user interfaces for automation equipment
Integrate automation equipment into core company systems (ERP/MES/PLM)
Design standard automation and control hardware and software platforms (e.g. universal robotic cells, common PLC controllers)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, production, design engineering, and software engineering
Scale automation systems across multiple production locations
Develop and maintain infrastructure for controls and automation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
4+ years of machine safety experience in a production environment
Proven experience building and maintaining high-volume production automation systems
Strong background in automation and control design
Experience leading or contributing to teams that have built out infrastructure for controls and automation
Demonstrated ability to develop automation systems deployed at scale across multiple locations
Proficiency in scripting for test automation
Software experience, including ability to write and debug automation code
Strong electrical engineering background, including design of electronics/mechatronics
Excellent cross-functional communication skills
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with 3rd party integrators for automation
6+ years of machine safety experience in a production environment
Robotic programming and mechatronics software development skills
Custom tooling, fixturing, and/or conveyance design experience
Broad knowledge of automation and controls, including conveyance, robotics, fastening/dispensing, and material movement
Familiarity with production processes for defense and aerospace products
US Salary Range: $146,000 — $194,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
