We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Professional to engineer routine and specialized outside plant work orders for fiber feeder and distribution networks supporting FiOS, HiCAP, Ethernet services, copper POTS, special services, and digital loop carrier (DLC) systems. The ideal candidate will provide both administrative and field support to outside plant technicians and operations teams.
This role requires managing a high volume of work activities, maintaining visibility into customer needs, and independently handling assignments. The engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing network infrastructure in designated geographic areas. Responsibilities include planning upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to fiber optic networks, including poles, conduit systems, aerial and underground cable, and customer premise equipment for multi-tenant buildings.
The engineer will analyze service order requirements, design network extensions, and coordinate with internal departments and customers. Strong problem-solving skills, pricing and design decision-making authority, and the ability to work in diverse environments are essential.
Required Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
Proficient in Windows-based programs and corporate databases
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments
Customer-facing communication skills
Preferred Skills :
Experience in Outside Plant Engineering practices
Familiarity with LFACS, LEAD, ICGS
Proficiency in CAD, MS Excel, MS Access
Knowledge of land access agreements, legal documentation, and time management
Experience in Right of Way engineering, title / deed research, and easement acquisition
