As the Senior Stress Analyst in support of FBM Missile Programs you will be the lead for the Nose Fairing / Equipment Section Shell, responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of missile flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground and test support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will review and coordinate stress analysis and provide technical mentorship to less experienced stress analysts and actively support knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities
Generating stress analysis technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews
Preparing technical charts and representing the organization in design reviews and outside contracts
Supporting static structural test definition, requirements, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis while understanding and incorporating other applicable mechanical (thermal, dynamic, materials, etc.) and system level requirements/parameters into the stress analyses
Supporting development of weight‑optimized, compliant flight‑worthy components and structural assemblies which satisfy the contractual design criteria as well as any producibility requirements defined by Manufacturing and Quality Engineering
Basic Qualifications
Experience with NX/NASTRAN finite element modeling OR equivalent
Experience with new design AND/OR production
Skilled with composites through work experience AND/OR education/course work
Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis
Knowledge of and applicable experience with missile or spacecraft or aircraft structural analysis methods, including classical hand calculations and experience with mechanical joints
Desired Skills
A Master’s degree is strongly preferred for this position
Technical leadership experience
Ability to communicate highly technical content to any level of audience
Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
Non‑linear, fracture & fatigue, and buckling analysis experience
Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience
Experience with Abaqus, Matlab, Mathcad and CREO
Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock test experience of aerospace flight hardware
Active Top Secret security clearance

Salary and Benefits National Pay Statement The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 – $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short‑Term Disability, Long‑Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non‑represented full‑time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full‑time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
