Key to Change
The Social Media Associate
The Social Media Associate will manage Key to Change's social media presence, co‑creating compelling content, growing online communities, and amplifying our mission through digital storytelling. The work will reach music lovers, professional musicians, families, donors, and prospective and current students. The associate works directly with the Communications and Development Manager and the Creative Content Manager to ensure all content reflects the organization’s brand, values, and programs. This role requires availability for studio and event coverage and a reliable car for transportation.

Key Responsibilities Social Media Strategy and Content (65%)
Develop and implement a social media strategy that increases awareness, engagement, and support for Key to Change programs.
Create and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant platforms.
Co‑produce high‑quality multimedia content including graphics, images, videos, and written posts that highlight the voices of students, teaching artists, and community partners.
Assist with live social media coverage for concerts, student showcases, studio events, and community programs.
Track analytics and performance metrics to optimize content strategy and report insights to the leadership team.
Stay current on social media trends, algorithm changes, and platform innovations to maintain a relevant and impactful presence.
Ensure all content aligns with Key to Change’s brand voice, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Community Engagement and Collaboration (30%)
Manage daily posting and community interactions, responding thoughtfully to messages and fostering meaningful dialogue.
Collaborate with Communications and Development Manager and Creative Content Manager to coordinate fundraising, recruitment, and other marketing campaigns as well as consistent messaging.
Partner with artists, influencers, and other collaborators to co‑create content and expand digital reach.
Maintain and update the social media content calendar in alignment with organizational priorities.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content accurately reflects programs and organizational initiatives.
Organizational Support (5%)
Participate in professional development and organizational learning opportunities on equity, arts access, and youth development.
Support internal processes to improve efficiency and impact of the communications team.

Required Skills and Experience
3–5 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and algorithms.
Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and AI‑powered design tools.
Experience with video editing and graphic design for social media.
Ability to analyze metrics and performance data to optimize content.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Availability for studio events and reliable transportation (own car required).
Preferred Skills
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite beyond Illustrator (Premiere, After Effects).
Photography or videography experience.
Community management or moderation experience.
Appreciation or affinity for classical music.
Coverage of Canva Pro subscription.
Participation in in‑person events, staff meetings, and student showcases.
