Assistant Professor - Structural Geology The School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida seeks to fill a 9 month, full‑time, tenure‑earning, Assistant Professor in Structural Geology, with a start date of

August 7, 2026 . We seek an innovative scholar advancing the teaching and research in Structural Geology. Candidates who bridge across department strengths in geophysics, tectonics, and volcanology are especially encouraged to apply. Salary is negotiable.

Responsibilities

Maintain an active, externally funded research program.

Teach and develop courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Advise graduate students.

Contribute to departmental and university services.

Potential courses include introductory geology, structural geology, tectonics, and field mapping at our field station in Idaho during the summer.

Experience or demonstrated interest in fostering interdisciplinary research will be desirable.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Geology, Geophysics, or a closely related field is required.

ABD (All But Dissertation) candidates are welcome to apply; degree must be conferred by the appointment start date.

Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
