Tools Developer/Maintainer – Senior Level (Position ID 2054) Compass invites applications for the Senior‑Level Tools Developer/Maintainer role (Position ID 2054). This role supports mission‑critical activities for the Intelligence Community.

Job Overview:

The Senior‑Level Tools Developer/Maintainer will establish and guide others in applying relevant and meaningful criteria to evaluate and provide analysis to potential tools, technology, and software for automation opportunities. The goal is to develop tools that improve efficiency and enable agile execution. This includes forecasting future technology, architecture, and creating tools that support systems engineering processes, hosted in dedicated cloud and container environments.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate applications that support exploitation of data and databases.

Assess integration requirements for tools within Agency IT environments.

Prepare required documentation at program‑level and user‑level.

Plan and execute migration of engineering tools into the cloud in accordance with Agency policy.

Ensure migrated systems achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO).

Oversee work of junior Tools Developers/Maintainers.

Maintain the Enterprise Engineering Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) in AWS, OpenShift or other cloud platforms.

Manage resources in AWS and OpenShift and lead transition to containerized services.

Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions for deployment automation using Git, Terraform, or comparable tools.

Provide cloud hosting cost estimates and monitor burn rates using approved government tools.

Integrate and maintain tools such as ServiceNow, IBM DOORS Next Gen (DNG), MS Project, and Cameo for data sharing and process automation.

Leverage approved government Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASoTs), including Atlassian suite and other capabilities.

Maintain visualization in approved government visualization applications and coordinate support with applicable teams.

Coordinate with NFE leadership and related teams.

Required Skills & Tasks

Ability to develop and use complex concepts and processes.

Perform multiple tasks at a specialist level.

Lead multiple junior/mid‑level personnel.

Recognized as a subject‑matter expert (SME) in relevant technologies.

Evaluate and recommend new technology and processes based upon cost, risk, and mission requirements.

Education / Certification

Master's degree with 4 years of experience,

Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience,

Associate's degree with 8 years of experience, or

Minimum 8 years of related experience.

Security+ certification.
