HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
The
Electrical Engineering Manager
will play a key part in developing and implementing cutting‑edge electrical systems for passenger rail vehicles manufactured in the U.S. You will lead the Electrical Engineering sub‑department activities in all project phases from the concept to the validation and warranty phase, cost‑to‑complete analysis and capacity planning for the Electrical Engineering efforts across all projects, and support and organize further trainings to continue the development of a well‑established, experienced and sustainable team.
Key Activities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers and designers.
Ensure projects meet technical requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FRA, APTA, IEEE).
Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, software, and production teams to ensure successful product development.
Manage schedules, resources, and budgets for electrical engineering projects.
Serve as technical lead and point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices within the electrical engineering function.
Coordinate and plan resources for the Electrical Engineering sub‑department for current and future US projects.
Create, establish and further develop engineering processes, guidelines and work instructions.
Participate in supplier negotiations and escalations.
Support sales and bid engineering during offer phases.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering
8+ years as an Electrical Engineer
3+ years of leadership or management experience
Experience in the Railway Industry is preferred
Proven management experience in an engineering team or department is preferred
Excellent communication skills in an international working environment
