The Manager, Finance and Administration is a senior leader responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Foundation’s financial, administration, and compliance functions. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with nonprofit and Yum guidelines and applicable regulations and best practices. The position provides strategic counsel to the Executive Director and board of directors and other senior leaders, leads budgeting and forecasting, and oversees audit and tax reporting. This role also oversees data and payments management processes, managing the grants and donor records specialist and the impact and insights manager to ensure data-driven decision-making and compelling impact reporting. The Manager supervises finance and data personnel and works closely with other administrative support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy Provide strategic financial leadership to support the Foundation’s mission, growth, and sustainability for a $62 million fund with planned growth. Lead multi-year financial planning, scenario modeling, and cash flow forecasting. Present timely, accurate financial and impact reports and analysis to the Executive Director, senior leadership, and Board of Directors. Accountable for all accounting operations, internal controls, and financial reporting. Accounting Operations & Compliance Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and grant accounting. Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations for public charities, and all relevant laws; collaborate with internal and external counsel. Establish, monitor, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard organizational assets. Direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Audit, Tax, and Regulatory Reporting Lead the selection and contract with outside CPA firms to ensure annual independent audits and tax filings. Manage compliance with charitable registrations, state filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budget development process in partnership with the Executive Director, program leaders, and Finance Manager. Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analyses with actionable insights. Impact & Insights Oversight Lead the strategy for Impact & Insights to develop and implement robust measurement and evaluation frameworks. Integrate program impact data into financial and strategic decision-making. Administration Track and report PTO in compliance with Yum guidelines. Manage administrative workflows supporting finance, HR, IT, and impact operations. Oversee vendor management, onboarding, and contract maintenance in partnership with Taco Bell legal for key contracts. Ensure access and processes for all team software applications not managed by the enterprise. Identify opportunities to automate and improve operations across the Foundation. Supervise the Finance Manager, Impact & Insights Manager, grants/donor specialist, and administrative staff; provide direction and professional development. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong financial analysis and forecasting skills; knowledge of nonprofit accounting, GAAP, and IRS regulations for public charities. Experience leading audits and managing IRS Form 990 preparation. Experience overseeing program impact measurement or data analytics teams preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial audiences. Curious, creative, and proactive; adept at leveraging data for greater impact. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday) a plus. Work-Hard, Play-Hard
Hybrid schedule (onsite Tue, Wed, Thurs) with year-round flex day on Friday. Onsite childcare through Bright Horizons; dining center and game room; gym with classes and trainer. Up to 4 weeks of vacation, holidays, volunteering time, parental leave, and adoption assistance. 401(k) with 6% match and immediate vesting; comprehensive medical & dental benefits. Salary Range: $130,000 to $150,000 annually + bonus eligibility + benefits The above represents the expected salary range. Final pay will consider location, experience, and other factors.
