Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Processes inventory documentation on WMS system. (30%)
Assists in slotting new merchandise, measuring cases, maintaining pallet configuration, proper description, UPC and size of merchandise. (20%)
Assists with cycle counting. (20%)
Assists with other duties such as: problem pallets, hold area, new locations, code dating, etc. (20%)
Coordinates with purchasing department and other distribution departments. (10%)
Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Distributes reports as outlined by supervisors.
Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities None
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Worker Characteristics
Must have ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
Must have ability to interpret verbal or written work instructions; write identifying information; file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; and evaluate technical data.
Must have ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Education And Experience High school or equivalent experience. One to three years of similar or related work experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Reaching, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions The duties of this position are performed in a combination of office and warehouse settings. There is exposure to dirt, noise, temperature extremes, and equipment movement hazards. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
Equipment Used To Perform Job Office equipment including telephone, 10-key calculator, copier, and fax. Printers, terminals, and PC with WMS Inventory Control System, mainframe, spreadsheet, email, cushman, and tractor.
Confidentiality Has access to vendor records, and other Hy-Vee documents associated with inventory.
Financial Responsibility None
Contacts Has contact with distribution, store, and purchasing personnel.
