Research Associate - Comprehensive Cancer Center Department
Medicine | IM Medical Oncology Position Summary
Applies knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures gained through education to support research in cancer immunology, tumor biology, and immune responses in prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Applies basic concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform routine tasks. Works on projects of limited scope and complexity, generally following set procedures. Works under supervision and receives instructions. Exchanges information on routine matters. Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with laboratory research using in vitro, in vivo, and in silico approaches under direct supervision. Perform routine experiments such as cell culture, basic tissue processing, and sample preparation. Support animal studies by assisting with routine procedures such as cancer cell inoculation, tumor measurement, and administration of treatments. Collect and process human tissue and blood samples as directed. Prepare laboratory materials, solutions, and reagents following standard operating procedures. Maintain accurate records of all work performed. Support data collection and basic analysis. Assist in preparing figures and results for presentations, publications, and grant submissions. Conduct literature searches to support assigned experiments. Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and flow cytometers under guidance. Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies. Provide routine support to students or junior personnel as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support the research mission. Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 3 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 1 year of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree. Additional Information

The OSUCCC – James Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) is a comprehensive bench-to-bedside research initiative focused on harnessing the body’s immune system to fight cancer at all levels—from prevention to treatment and survivorship.
