High School Assistant Boys Track Coach (3 half stipends)
We are the Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, seeking a High School Assistant Boys Track Coach/Advisor (3) for the 2025-26 school year Spring Season. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre‑K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state‑of‑the‑art buildings in west‑central Ohio. The district values the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of our student body, faculty and staff. Our academic and extracurricular aim is to ensure social and emotional learning growth for students with a wealth of opportunity, including a 1:1 initiative and the YouMedia Center, a digital learning lab offering 3‑D printing, graphic design, and videography. Responsibilities
Completion of an approved CPR course issued by the American Red Cross, The American Heart Association or similar entity.
Completion of a 4‑hour Sports Medicine or Sports Safety First Aid course issued by the American Red Cross or similar entity.
Completion of an 8‑hour Fundamentals of Coaching course as required.
Completion of the Concussion in Sports course as required.
Completion and certification on ODE of the Lindsay's Law video as required.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Pupil Activity Permit as issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
Qualifications
Being a role model and mentor to student athletes.
Ability to build strong communication links between students, parents and the community.
Ability to build strong connections with collegiate level contacts both in academics and recruiting.
Action plans to create a disciplined team, both with coaches and student athletes.
Benefits As a High School Assistant Boys Track Coach, the stipend is $1,911.00. All "Requirements for Coach/Advisor" must be met on or before the first practice date and throughout the entire season of sport to be performed. Copies of the above documents must be on file in Human Resources.
