Key Responsibilities

Perform the role of Scrum Master as described in the Scrum Guide

Act as a servant-leader and facilitator to support teams in the day-to-day operation of their agile practices

Empower the team(s) to self-organize and to take collective responsibility for delivering value to the customer through development of high-quality products

Build a trusting, safe environment within the team where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged

Actively facilitate team events (e.g. Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Review and Retrospectives) and support activities such as backlog refinement to ensure that the relevant objectives are achieved

Promote effective engagement between the team and its stakeholders, by protecting the integrity of the team’s process to ensure predictable delivery

Help the team to identify coherent and achievable goals in consultation with stakeholders

Support the team in identifying and addressing impediments to the attainment of goals, including taking action to remove impediments where appropriate

Promote sustainable continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data to derive valuable insights

Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and making information visible

Support teams or individuals to improve performance and achieve goals through coaching and mentoring

Provide training to impart or reinforce knowledge of Agile concepts, tools and practices

Provide support with risk management, release management, and facilitate release planning activities maintaining and improving the flow of value delivery

Support Northrop Grumman's growth by providing input to business development and capture activities as required

Consistently exhibit the Northrop Grumman Leadership Characteristics

Level 3 Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of experience OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience

Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) or Professional Scrum Master™ (PSM™) certification

2+ years of experience in a software development environment

2+ years working in an Agile team

3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master

Thorough knowledge of agile principles, practices, and methods

Practical experience of servant‑leadership in agile teams

Excellent organizational and facilitation skills

Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills

Self‑starting mentality and willingness to take ownership of difficult challenges

Desire to drive change, implement new ways of working and think "out of the box"

Current DoD Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years), with ability to obtain a Top‑Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearances

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) Certified

Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite: Jira and Confluence,

Active Top‑Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years)

Current SCI/SAP access

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
