Job Summary Oversees daily operations of the Recreation Center and Athletic facilities and ensures the delivery of high-quality recreation, intercollegiate athletics, health and wellness programming in a professional, safe and welcoming environment. Plans and evaluates a comprehensive intramural and recreational sports program, designed to meet the recreational needs of the College community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides supervision and support for all intramural and recreational sports leagues, tournaments, special events, and NJCAA intercollegiate events. Assists in developing and implementing procedures to address risk management and safety issues and trains staff in procedures and processes related to the safe delivery of intramural and recreational sports programs. Assists in overseeing the scheduling of the facility and manages space utilization efficiently and in the best interest of the campus community. Assists in developing and overseeing the enforcement of facility and program rules, regulations and admittance policies. Assists with the implementation of strength and conditioning programming. Assists in developing and implementing a marketing plan to promote recreation, health and wellness programs and services to the College community and increase participation. Assists in designing, updating and maintaining the Intramural and Recreational Sports website with current league standings, schedules, and related news. Assists in performing frequent inspection of facility and equipment and ensures all equipment is cleaned, maintained and inspected according to a regular schedule. Participates in researching and recommending appropriate purchases of equipment and in developing a replacement schedule. Assists in coordinating, developing, and implementing Recreation Center and Athletic department procedures in consultation with other student services offices. Assists in developing institutional forms used by the Recreation Center and Athletic Department. Assists with planning and production of student convocation and College commencement exercises. Maintains awareness of best practices, emerging trends and new legislation relating to recreation, athletics, and health and wellness functional areas. Assists in developing, implementing, monitoring, and revising policies and procedures related to the Recreation Center. Participates in systematic review and evaluation per the institutional effectiveness model adopted by the College. Develops unit-level outcomes, monitors assessment, and assists in action plans for improvement. Assists with overseeing student personnel, including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of student employees in collaboration with the Director of Recreation and Athletic Operations. Assists the Director in implementation and data input for fitness programming such as incentive programs, seminars, health fairs, health assessments, and group fitness classes. Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows the work schedule. Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars to convey and gather required information. Provides supervision for all Recreation Center and special events. Works evenings, holidays or weekends as needed. Completes duties in compliance with college standards, policies, and guidelines. Uses interpersonal skills and sound judgment in interactions. Completes required training and professional development sessions. Promotes positive morale, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. Serves on committees as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
