Henry Ford Health
Post Doctoral Fellow - Lung & Prostate Cancer - Lab - 40 Hours - Days
Henry Ford Health, Detroit, Michigan, United States, 48228
Postdoctoral position available at Henry Ford Health for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our translational research team studying lung and prostate cancers. The laboratory focuses on uncovering the molecular mechanisms of cancer development and therapy resistance, with the ultimate goal of identifying and testing novel therapeutic strategies. State‑of‑the‑art functional genetics, genomic approaches, and both cell line and mouse models are utilized to investigate cancer initiation, progression, and mechanisms of resistance.
Research Areas
Molecular mechanisms driving therapy resistance in lung and prostate cancers
Identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets
Development and application of animal models of therapy‑resistant cancer (xenografts, PDX)
Drug discovery and preclinical testing of small‑molecule inhibitors in vitro and in vivo
Responsibilities
Design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and publish high‑quality findings
Prepare manuscripts and present results at lab meetings, conferences, and seminars
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while maintaining independence in projects
Mentor junior researchers and contribute to a well‑organized laboratory environment
Stay up‑to‑date with scientific advances to drive research innovation
Skills and Abilities
Strong experimental and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
