POLICE OFFICER - CITY OF MCCOOK, NEBRASKA is accepting applications and resumes (both required) for Police Officer positions in accordance with McCook Civil Service Act. Written and oral exams will be administered for uncertified applicants. Certified applicants will participate in an oral exam. Applicants not Certified must be able to pass a physical fitness test, TABE test, background investigation, psychological evaluation, and medical evaluation. A drug test will be required for applicants certified as eligible for hire by the McCook Civil Service Commission. Law enforcement experience is preferred but not required. Applicants must qualify for admission into the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center and become a certified law enforcement officer in the State of Nebraska within one year. Salary range: $26.27- $36.19 per hour (dependent on qualifications). The written test date for uncertified applicants and oral interview for certified and uncertified applicants to be determined at a later date. A physical fitness test is also required for uncertified applicants after the written test. The McCook Police Department works a 42-hour work week with a three-day weekend every other week. Full benefit package including excellent health insurance and 11 paid holidays. Applications will be accepted until all positions have been filled.
