Description Join the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), a leader in providing command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN). We are seeking a dedicated Network Solutions Engineer to directly support DISA services at Scott AFB, IL. In this role, you will oversee the installation, configuration, testing, monitoring, and activation of network equipment, driving projects that support our Department of Defense mission. Clearance Requirement: U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000 Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate customer interaction and ensure that Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) processes meet DISA standards for new service activations.

Collaborate with customers, solution architects, and technical experts to implement changes and effectively resolve any issues.

Manage Service Orders following Change Management procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Oversee Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) to support scheduled network additions and modifications.

Initiate and develop network device configurations using configlets.

Conduct analysis of DISN and associated databases to validate and implement customer requirements.

Develop and implement solutions for complex technical challenges, including testing and documentation of network configurations.

Work with commercial vendors to program and activate customer circuits, ensuring robust end-to-end connectivity.

Monitor network performance post-implementation to assess impacts on customer traffic and gather insights for future improvements.

Utilize systems analysis techniques to consult with users on hardware, software, or system functional requirements.

Engage with DISA project managers to clarify and resolve incomplete or unclear project requirements.

Facilitate necessary approvals from stakeholders to maintain progress on service requests.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience.

Proficient in understanding various network hardware specifications, configuration, and testing methodologies.

Strong knowledge of network systems configuration, activation, and analysis.

Experience in network engineering, problem management, and performance management.

Familiarity with telecommunications and information technology terminology.

Working knowledge of data and voice network design using various transmission systems and protocols including BGP and ISIS.

Experience with network services such as BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, and related network appliances.

Able to thrive in a team environment while also being self-driven to complete tasks independently.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with team collaboration abilities.

Must possess an active Secret security clearance.

DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification required (Security+ CE or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with DISA systems and processes.

Experience in SharePoint data entry.

Demonstrated experience in customer outreach roles.

Familiarity with DISA Request Fulfillment processes and associated documentation.

Basic understanding of Department of Defense structure and policies.

Familiarity with the DISA organizational framework and mission partner requirements.

Relevant network certifications such as Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft (MCSE), security certifications (Security+ CE, CISSP), or ITIL certification.
