Position Overview
Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a self‑motivated, organized Environmental Scientist to join the Nashville, TN team. The role focuses on GIS, environmental data science, stream and wetland science, and federal/state water quality regulations. Applicants should be located in the Nashville area and able to work throughout Tennessee and adjoining states.
This is a full‑time, salaried position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Compensation will be based on experience.
What You’ll Do
Conduct natural resource assessments.
Write technical reports.
Prepare Section 404 Clean Water Act and related Section 401 Water Quality permits.
Create customized maps.
Compile and integrate field data into map deliverables.
Manage GIS data and GIS scripting.
Perform environmental monitoring and reporting using ArcGIS Professional, ArcGIS Online, and QGIS.
Work directly with clients and represent the company at professional meetings.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Sciences or related field.
Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS Pro and/or open‑source GIS).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Comfortable working outdoors, in difficult field conditions, and willing to travel.
Driver’s license with a clean record.
Preferred: 2+ years GIS experience, additional coursework in wetland science, fisheries, geology, biology, or ecology.
Preferred: Experience with wetland delineation, Section 404/401 permitting, and Tennessee environmental permitting.
