Job Title: Radiology Interventional Technologist Profession: Radiology Interventional Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8am-4pm Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Interventional Radiology with Neuro experience required. License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced registry in one of the following: Cardiac-Interventional Radiography, Vascular-Interventional Radiography, Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography. Certifications: Must maintain Healthcare Provider certification (BLS). Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology with a focus on Neuro. - Experience with Phillips and Siemens equipment is preferred. - Familiarity with MergePass and Cerner EMR is a plus. Description: Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in performing invasive procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination. Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary. Prepares prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration to patients. Reviews clinical data, analyzes patients' anatomical structures, and sets up equipment according to protocols. Assists the Radiologist in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures. Prepares and sets up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for the procedure. Ensures adequate supplies, such as needles and catheters, are on hand and properly stored. Replenishes supplies as appropriate. Actively assesses patient condition before, during, and following all procedures. Manually controls equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information for the area of the body being studied. May assist with the training of new personnel or students assigned to the division. Performs all imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection. Resolves any imaging exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery. Completes all study indexing in the Radiology Information System. Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies. Demonstrates Team Member Standards of Excellence including open communication, timely response, and fostering innovation. Performs Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate. Documents in the medical record and within the radiology information system to support all clinical and billing functions.
