We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both industrial and commercial electrical work, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and building codes. This role involves working on various projects, including renovations and new construction, ensuring all electrical installations are completed to the highest standards.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with the Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various electrical tasks
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems
  • Perform high voltage and low voltage installations as required
  • Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met
  • Conduct renovations by upgrading existing electrical systems to meet current standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations

Skills

  • Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to electrical work
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring methods, and safety practices
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
  • Experience in frame carpentry is a plus for renovation projects
  • Familiarity with low voltage systems and high voltage installations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Previous maintenance person experience is advantageous for diverse tasks on-site
