12-months Position Summary CereCore is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong IT background, preferably with EHR implementation or interoperability experience, to join our dynamic healthcare IT team. This position is based in Nashville, TN and operates in a hybrid work environment, combining remote flexibility with in-office collaboration. In this role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of healthcare technology projects with a focus on system interoperability, data exchange and interface integration. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical knowledge, project management expertise and healthcare understanding to lead initiatives that connect clinical and operational systems across diverse healthcare environments. You will serve as a trusted advisor, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions that improve connectivity and data flow within healthcare systems.
Responsibilities
Manage healthcare IT and interoperability projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and quality objectives. Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, goals, and deliverables that support interoperability and data integration initiatives. Lead and coordinate efforts related to HL7, FHIR, and API integrations, ensuring systems communicate effectively and securely. Oversee project activities related to data mapping, interface design, and workflow validation. Identify, document, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating when necessary. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and progress reports. Facilitate effective communication across stakeholders, including technical teams, clients, and leadership. Drive lessons-learned discussions and contribute to continuous improvement of project management methodologies. Provide mentorship and guidance to project team members, promoting collaboration and accountability. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional, proactive, and transparent project management practices.
Position Requirements Minimum of 7 years of progressive project management experience leading IT or healthcare technology initiatives. Experience with interoperability, HL7, FHIR, or API integrations required. Strong understanding of healthcare data exchange standards and workflows. Experience managing full project lifecycles, including planning, execution, testing, and go-live. Familiarity with Waterfall or Agile project management methodologies preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and clinical stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated accountability, adaptability, and a proactive approach to challenges. Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration and client satisfaction. Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and respect for diversity in experience and perspective.
Education Bachelor’s degree preferred (IT, Healthcare, Business, or related field). PMP certification strongly preferred. Master’s degree or equivalent advanced credential in Project Management, Healthcare Administration, or Information Systems is a plus.
