We are looking for a dedicated Citrix Systems Specialist to join our team and support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). In this role, you will provide operational support to customers in various locations, manage existing Citrix VDI environments, and help implement new technologies. Your contributions will enhance the reliability and user experience of our systems throughout a diverse user base. Collaboration within a team setting will be essential to meeting both internal and external customer needs.
This is a 100% on-site position, based at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide remote administration of servers in offsite data centers.
Deliver Tier 3 operations support, identifying user issues versus service outages in Citrix technologies including XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, and StoreFront.
Monitor Citrix infrastructure to identify and address system anomalies proactively.
Collaborate with engineering teams on modernization efforts to enhance system reliability.
Analyze network latency to resolve connection and user experience challenges swiftly.
Implement system upgrades and changes to ensure operational continuity and security.
Facilitate major system upgrades as necessary.
Work with Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams for testing and deployment of Group Policy updates.
Perform server backup and restoration activities periodically.
Monitor desktop capacity to optimize environment sizing based on usage trends.
Manage licenses and certificates, ensuring timely renewal and installation.
Coordinate with customers to collect data, analyze incidents, and develop effective solutions.
Establish an effective availability and capacity management framework.
Generate follow-up reports for technical findings, resolutions, and process improvements.
Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for systems and services.
Maintain operations documentation for IT support personnel.
Mentor and train junior team members.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in customer service and solving service inquiries.
Proven Tier 3 systems administration experience with familiarity in desktop applications and IT Service Management tools.
Strong knowledge of IC IT standards and best practices.
Extensive expertise in Citrix technologies, including XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, and StoreFront.
Experience in patching and upgrading both front-end and back-end systems using Citrix technology.
Ability to rapidly test, validate, and deploy new baseline images.
Competence in analyzing incidents through log reviews and performance baselining.
Proficient in scripting or automation techniques.
Exceptional troubleshooting skills in dynamic environments.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrable teamwork and process improvement capabilities.
Experience with support ticket management systems.
Background in mentoring or supervising others.
Candidate must meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements.
Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, with additional years considered in lieu of degree.
4+ years of experience in supervising or leading teams or projects.
Clearance
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required OR active TS/SCI with a willingness to obtain Poly.
US Citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of government contracts supported.
Preferred Qualifications
Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA).
ITIL Foundations Certification.
