The Field Support Specialist is an essential customer-facing role that embodies the Vantive brand in clinical and hospital environments. In this position, you will manage a designated territory and engage in travel to oversee the installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and training related to a variety of electro-mechanical medical devices. Your focus on delivering a positive customer experience and ensuring timely service completion will be paramount. Key Responsibilities: Execute installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a diverse array of electro-mechanical medical equipment, complying with SLAs, quality standards, and safety protocols. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, determining root causes and implementing effective solutions. Efficiently manage service calls and preventive maintenance schedules within your territory to meet SLA commitments. Document all service activities thoroughly while keeping maintenance records and inventory transactions up to date. Order and maintain necessary parts for service and maintenance, ensuring proper inventory control. Train and guide customers on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and inspection techniques. Maintain open communication with customers regarding service status, arrival times, and resolutions, fostering strong relationships and high satisfaction. Represent Vantive professionally with a positive attitude and engagement with colleagues and customers. Mentor fellow technicians and contribute to team knowledge sharing, best practices, and departmental meetings. Participate in installations, field actions, and various initiatives, taking on leadership roles as needed. Ensure proper handling of sensitive components while adhering to regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental concerns. Manage travel to clinical sites for technical support, training, and meetings. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills that align with Vantive's values of Care, Ownership, Trust, and Innovation. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Experience in biomedical engineering, adept at installing, maintaining, and repairing medical devices, with the capacity to diagnose problems and apply independent judgment to resolve complex equipment issues safely and effectively. Ability to work independently while effectively managing a designated territory. Exceptional interpersonal skills, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with peers and customers. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint). Ability to work in healthcare environments following PPE protocols while meeting the role's physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time, including overnight stays as needed; ability to drive long distances or fly. Valid driver’s license is required. Education and Experience: Associate's degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. OR an associate's degree or higher in an unrelated field with 3+ years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience. OR Biomedical Engineering Technology (BMET) certification with 3+ years of relevant experience. OR completion of a U.S. military program in electrical or biomedical equipment technology. Previous field service experience is strongly preferred. We value fair compensation at Vantive, and the estimated base salary for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 annually.
