RESRG Automotive is seeking you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer in our Newbern, TN!

Your Job

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving performance and continuous improvement across the paint line. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and leveraging data to identify root causes, reduce defects, and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings advanced problem-solving expertise—such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Red X, or other structured methodologies—to support the Paint Manager and cross-functional teams.

What you Will do in Your Role

  • Track and report paint line Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with precision and consistency.
  • Prepare and present daily performance reports for morning staff meetings.
  • Conduct detailed scrap analysis focused on the top 5 defects, including trend identification and root cause investigation.
  • Lead PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles targeting KPI improvements; assign ownership and enforce deadlines.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Red X, DMAIC, 8D) to resolve chronic issues and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Oversee production labeling processes and training to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve gaps or inconsistencies in data entry and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze paint line downtime, providing actionable insights and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Defect Analyst to mitigate risks and improve quality outcomes.
  • Design and implement automated, real-time data collection systems for the paint line.
  • Communicate findings across departments to support data-driven decision-making.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience with data management, reporting, or industrial KPI tracking
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, Red X, DMAIC, 8D).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes
