This is a full-time clinical position with opportunities for academic involvement and program development. Position Highlights: 7-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) caring for medical, surgical, and trauma patients 18-bed pediatric medical/surgical floor Shared coverage of both PICU and pediatric floor, supported by physician assistants, residents, and students 10 in-house 24-hour shifts per month In-house day coverage and on-call overnight Health System Overview: 1,000+ bed regional health system with over 1 million visits annually 44-bed Level III NICU and family birth center with 5,000 deliveries annually 17-bed Pediatric Emergency Department staffed by full-time pediatric emergency physicians Emphasis on clinical care, program expansion, and multidisciplinary collaboration Academic & Leadership Opportunities: Multiple formal academic affiliations, including with a new regional medical school Opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and leadership in pediatric care Qualifications: BC in Pediatrics and BE/BC in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina Strong clinical skills and interest in program growth Location: Located in the thriving and diverse community of which consists of more than 319,000 residents.
