Scheduled clinical hours plus call coverage Hours per Shift: Outpatient 36 hours/week; flexible 8:00 AM 5:30 PM; hospital call as scheduled Description : We are seeking a Board Eligible Hematologist Oncologist for a Locum Tenens assignment in Lafayette, IN. The physician will provide care in outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth settings. Outpatient clinic schedule is Monday through Friday, totaling 36 hours per week, with flexible scheduling between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM. Hospital call coverage occurs every 4th or 5th week for one full week at a time. During call weeks, weekdays are for new consults and weekends are for rounding only. The on-call provider handles new hospital consults, while Nurse Practitioners round on existing patients. Patient mix includes approximately 70% oncology and 30% hematology (primarily benign cases). Call responsibilities include responding via beeper within 30 minutes, handling 5 6 phone consults per week, seeing 2 3 patients, with less than 10% call back. Admissions are not required; this is a 100% consultant role. The EMR system in use is Cerner. The hospital is stroke certified. Experience: Prior experience in outpatient and inpatient hematology/oncology preferred License: Indiana Medical License or IMLC Certifications: Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology, BLS Must-Have: Ability to provide both inpatient and outpatient care, respond to calls promptly, and manage oncology and hematology patients
