Summary

A prominent freight forwarding and logistics company specializing in global supply chain solutions is seeking a dedicated Japanese-Bilingual Customer Service Agent, Air Export. This role is critical to their automotive logistics division, focusing on the timely and accurate arrangement of air exports for a major Japanese automotive manufacturer. The successful candidate will be a key player in ensuring smooth and compliant international shipments, operating primarily through clear and consistent written communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Manage the end-to-end air export shipment process, specifically for components and finished products destined for international markets.

• Coordinate directly with the automotive manufacturer, airlines, and carriers to ensure all shipping requirements and deadlines are met.

• Handle and process all necessary export documentation, strictly adhering to customs regulations and international trade laws.

• Communicate daily with Japanese-speaking clients and partners via email, requiring a high level of proficiency in Japanese writing and reading comprehension.

• Track shipments, proactively identifying and resolving any logistical issues or delays that may arise during transit.

• Maintain meticulous records of all transactions and communications to ensure audit compliance and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required

• Business-level proficiency in the Japanese language, with a strong emphasis on professional written communication (reading and writing are essential).

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or a closely related field.

• Strong understanding of air export processes, documentation, and compliance.

• Proficiency in standard office software, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

• A commitment to daily, in-office attendance in the Detroit, Michigan area.

Preferred

• Prior experience specifically handling automotive or high-volume manufacturing logistics.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

• Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) or other industry-specific software.

• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as their logistics operation expands.

• Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in problem-solving.
