Cvent is seeking a talented and visionary

Mobile Architect

to drive the technical direction for all mobile applications across our global platform. As a key leader in our technology organization, you will shape Cvent's mobile architecture strategy, establishing best practices, guiding modernization efforts, and ensuring seamless, high-performance user experiences. You'll play a critical role in bridging the gap between React Native and native mobile development, partnering with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions at scale.

In This Role, You Will:

Driving a Mobile-First Mindset:

Champion a mobile-first approach across the engineering team, ensuring mobile experiences set the standard for usability and performance before web adaptations. Thinking Local-First:

Design and implement solutions that prioritize local-first data strategies, including syncing large datasets to user devices for reliable offline access and seamless transitions between online and offline modes. Data Synchronization at Scale:

Tackle the unique challenges of efficiently syncing large and complex datasets to devices, optimizing for both performance and data integrity across platforms. AI Opportunities:

Proactively identify and integrate opportunities for AI and automation within the software development lifecycle (SDLC), driving innovation in areas such as code generation, testing, and personalized user experiences. Collaboration & Mentorship:

Work closely with product, design, and engineering peers to ensure cohesive solutions. Mentor junior engineers and help establish technical best practices. Continuous Improvement:

Stay up-to-date with the latest in mobile development, cloud sync technologies, and architectural patterns to ensure our apps remain at the cutting edge. Define and maintain the mobile architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with Cvent's business objectives and technology vision. Lead architectural decisions for all mobile applications, with a primary focus on React Native, Expo, and Typescript. Set standards for code quality, scalability, security, and maintainability across mobile platforms. Guide teams through the adoption of modern frameworks, tools, and best practices in cross-platform and native mobile development. Collaborate with native mobile developers (Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift) to ensure seamless interoperability and integration between React Native and native modules. Drive the modernization and migration of legacy mobile applications to unified, scalable architectures. Evaluate and recommend emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to keep Cvent at the forefront of innovation. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mobile engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Oversee performance optimization, technical debt reduction, and risk mitigation for all mobile initiatives. Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives such as security reviews, compliance, and app store deployment strategies. Here's What You Need:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in mobile application development, with significant expertise in architecting and scaling complex mobile solutions. Extensive hands-on experience with React Native, Expo, and Typescript. Comprehensive experience in mobile development, including proficiency in native languages (Kotlin, Swift) and a proven ability to architect solutions that integrate seamlessly with cross-platform technologies. Demonstrated ability to set and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and technical vision for cross-platform mobile teams. Experience optimizing mobile applications for performance, security, accessibility, and maintainability. Familiarity with CI/CD for mobile, automated testing frameworks, and app store deployment processes. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proven track record of mentoring and developing senior mobile engineers. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in SaaS, large-scale mobile platforms, or event/hospitality technology is a plus. Experience with Expo EAS, advanced performance profiling, and third-party SDK integration. Experience with Tailwind/Nativewind is a plus. Knowledge of backend integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, push notifications, analytics). Familiarity with mobile security best practices and compliance requirements. Demonstrated success in leading mobile modernization or transformation projects.
