We're seeking a skilled
Senior Security Operations Engineer
to take a lead role in securing and strengthening a growing medical technology company's IT and cloud environments. You'll report directly to the CISO and work closely with the AWS DevOps team to strengthen cloud and corporate security, lead incident response, and ensure compliance readiness (SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST).
This is a hands-on, highly autonomous role for a security professional who thrives on problem-solving, continuous monitoring, and driving measurable improvements in our security posture.

Wage:
$100,000 - $135,000/yr, depending on experience
Hours:
Day shift, Flexible hours

Cloud Security (AWS):
Implement and maintain best-practice AWS security controls (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub). Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and CloudFormation Corporate IT Security:
Secure Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, and Purview. Manage endpoint protection, patching, encryption, and identity security across Windows, macOS, and mobile environments Monitoring & Incident Response:
Lead triage, investigation, and response for alerts from tools like CloudWatch, Defender, and Red Canary. Develop automation in PowerShell, Python, or Bash to streamline operations Compliance & Audit Readiness:
Support SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST audits. Maintain evidence, policies, and technical documentation Continuous Improvement:
Partner with IT and DevOps to enhance security configurations, evaluate emerging threats, and propose innovative solutions Requirements of the senior security operations engineer:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field 4-7 years of experience in security operations or systems administration Strong expertise in AWS security and monitoring tools Solid understanding of Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, Linux, and Windows environments Knowledge of SOC 2, HIPAA, or HITRUST frameworks Familiarity with endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and SaaS security Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) Preferred: AWS Security Specialty or Solutions Architect certification; EDR/SIEM experience (Red Canary, SentinelOne, Splunk)
