Purpose of Position:
This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery of products. This role balances customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity to support business goals and maintain high service levels.
Summary of Essential Job Functions: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, material availability, and production capacity. Interpret and manage multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate planning and material requirements. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, quality, and operations, to align production schedules with business objectives. Identify and resolve production scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and material shortages. Collaborated with material planners and fellow schedulers to ensure efficient utilization and allocation of common parts within the gimbal architecture. Track key metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and capacity utilization; report findings to leadership and recommend improvements. Monitor work order progress and ensure timely completion by coordinating with the Production Supervisor or Lead. Analyze bottlenecks, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Proactively communicate production status and any production issues to sales and upper management to eliminate customer surprises. Maintain accurate planning parameters in the ERP/MRP system and ensure data integrity for all scheduling and BOM inputs. Determine realistic lead times and communicate with Customer Service/Business Development. Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding production status, risks, and opportunities. Support continuous improvement projects targeting increased throughput and reduced downtime. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
One year of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience with multi-level BOM structures and how they influence planning and materials management. Proficient in Microsoft Project, with demonstrated ability to manage complex project schedules. Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) systems, NetSuite preferred. Experience with Microsoft products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project). Physical Demands of Position:
Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment) Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information. Competencies and Skills Requirements:
