What You'll Do
As a Paint Prepper, you'll play a key role in preparing vehicles for paint and ensuring high-quality finishes. You will: Prep trucks for paint and unmask when painted Operate and use all body shop equipment properly and safely Remove rust, grease, and dirt from work surfaces Mask and protect parts that are not to be painted or coated Assist Paint Technicians by sanding, masking, priming parts, and communicating progress Inspect painted units for quality, identifying any imperfections Apply paper and masking tape to protect non-painted surfaces Maintain clean and organized paint areas, prep stations, and storage rooms Help with reassembly-installing trim, moldings, and detail pieces Keep tools and equipment in proper working condition Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) Comply with all safety and environmental regulations related to paint and hazardous materials Support team members and maintain strong communication within the body shop Adhere to and promote all Hunter Truck safety policies and the company's culture of a safe work environment What We're Looking For
Entry-level to 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Good communication and teamwork skills Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Driver's License (must meet company insurability standards) Certifications preferred: Detailing, Electronics for Collision Repair, Workplace Hazardous Materials Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Must regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs and occasionally over 100 lbs
