This position is for a Heavy Equipment Technician in Soldotna, AK.

A little about the position:

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the full-time Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for analyzing the root causes of equipment failures and proposing corrective actions. They perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs and replacements.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, estimate repairs on engines, powertrains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and more.
  • Regular travel to field equipment both in town and remote locations.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports, accurate timekeeping and expense tracking.
  • Competent and thorough use of internal computer systems, including electronic diagnostic tools, parts management and work order management software.
  • Other duties as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Mechanical knowledge.
  • Able to work 40+ hours per week.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Physical and Safety Requirements

The physical demands include lifting at least 40 pounds regularly and standing for long periods. Bending, lifting, and pushing will be required. Safety training and onboarding requirements are part of the role.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Rate: $25-$55/hr (Depending on Experience).
  • 2 weeks of paid time off (PTO) per year with accrual after 90 days.
  • Annual $100 Safety Shoe reimbursement after 90 days.
