- Apply electrical theory to test and modify electrical control and circuitry.
- Support engineering projects by ordering electrical components and materials.
- Document electrical projects and coordinate with contracted engineers.
- Engineering Project Support, like order all electrical components/materials
- Electrical project documentation (change management, schematics)
- Electrical support for equipment onboarding
- Production Electrical Support
- Design and assemble electrical/PLC modifications for new and existing packaging equipment and control panels.
- Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas as well as demonstrate and promotes the company vision of the 4 I's: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and involvement.
- Performs corrective maintenance and repairs of packaging equipment using PLC/HMI software.
- Support purchase of spare parts and shop inventory.
- Proficient in leading and prioritizing multiple project engineering driven assignments from start to finish.
- Other Duties May be Assigned to Meet Business Needs.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to facilitate upgrades and repairs.
- Provide technical specifications for engineering builds and machine upgrades.
- Drive a philosophy of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and maintain an organized and safe working environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and national electrical codes, including NEC (National Electrical Code). NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and practices, including OSHA regulations related to electrical work.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and arc flash safety protocols.
- Understanding of PLC architecture, functionality, and software tools.
- Experience working with AC voltages up to 480V and a strong understanding of control voltage systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals, conducting tests on electrical systems using diagnostic tools.
- Ability to identify root causes of electrical failures and develop effective solutions under time constraints.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, are a must-have.
