Responsible for assessing, evaluating care and administering non-invasive tests for patients with vascular disease in a cost-effective manner. You are expected to work variable hours including weekend and Holiday call coverage. This position reports to the Manager of Cardiac and Vascular Services.
Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of noninvasive vascular procedures, including but not limited to:
- Carotid Duplex
- Venous Duplex
- Arterial Duplex (including graft patencies, peripheral arteries, renal and mesenteric arteries)
- Upper and Lower Extremity PVRs
- TOS (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome) Studies
- PPG (Photoplethysmography)
- PTP (Post-Thrombotic Syndrome) Studies
- Vasospasm Studies
- Conduct physical assessments and provide patient teaching regarding vascular testing and procedures.
- Enter and verify orders through the electronic medical record (EMR) system accurately and promptly.
- Maintain proficiency in equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal image quality and safety.
- Participate in education and training activities for staff, students, and new team members.
- Engage in personal continuing education to stay current with evolving technology and best practices in vascular imaging.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and ensure all procedures are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support cost containment efforts through appropriate use of supplies and equipment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive, compassionate approach with patients and colleagues.
- Provide preliminary interpretations of vascular studies for physician review and assist in coordinating timely communication of critical results.
- Job requires approximately 2–4 months of on-the-job training before able to work independently.
- Previous experience of at least one year in vascular imaging preferred.
- Must have the ability to respond to and withstand occasional crisis situations with professionalism and composure.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate patient care
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through CCI required (or eligibility within one year of hire).
- Current BLS certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited vascular technology or diagnostic medical sonography program required.
