Responsibilities Coral Shores Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS ,is a beautiful, 80-bed adolescent and adult Baker Act receiving facility, which is located in sunny Stuart, Florida. For more information about Coral Shores Behavioral Health, please visit our website at Position Summary: The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting visitors, patients, answering the switchboard, managing mail, documenting incoming deliveries, and providing clerical support as assigned. Assists in the facilitation of safety and security initiatives including announcing codes, assuring visitor sign-in/out, reviewing and documenting patient belongings, and identifying escalation issues in the reception area.
- Greets visitors to the building, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Determine reason for visit. Assure sign-in/out procedures are followed and temporary badges created as needed.
- Answers telephone in a timely manner and directs the caller to the appropriate department or employee.
- Understands and differentiates between crisis calls and can easily access appropriate clinical staff.
- In the absence of requested staff, offers caller choices of transfer a caller to an associate's voice mailbox, locating another staff person, or taking a message.
- Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website, services provided and other related information.
- Notifies applicants of application process.
- Manages patient visitation to ensure appropriate process are followed such as number/age/relation of visitors, collecting personal belongings, etc.
- Accepts, reviews and documenting patient belongings. Notifies appropriate staff to ensure timely delivery to unit/patient.
- Receives, sorts and forwards incoming mail. Maintains and routes publications.
- Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
- Manages the security of the reception area. Recognizes and responds to signs of rising acuity. Calls for assistance as needed.
- Assists in the expedient announcement of codes and fire drills.
- Manages cash box and sales for meal tickets & events.
- Assist with clerical duties such as faxing, filing, and collating for facility as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Only for one day coveregage 12:30 hrs shifts
- High School Diploma or equivalency required
- One year of experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard in a heath care environment preferred.
- Weekeends and holidays availability
