Accounting Manager Job at Robert Half in Oakland

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Oakland, California. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in managing month-end processes, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end closes, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and continuous process improvements.
• Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards, providing actionable insights to management.
• Manage inventory accounting, costing, and valuation; lead counts, reconcile variances, and ensure effective inventory controls.
• Lead and mentor AP/AR teams, setting KPIs, fostering collaboration, and supporting training and development.
• Optimize NetSuite ERP and integrated systems to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and business alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in wholesale, manufacturing, or inventory-focused environments.
• Proficient in NetSuite ERP and advanced Excel, with ability to automate and streamline financial processes.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, including COGS, valuation, reconciliation, and count management.
• Experienced in managing month-, quarter-, and year-end closes with accurate financial reporting.
• Proven leadership managing and mentoring accounting teams of 4+ professionals.
