Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager in Alabaster, Alabama. This Contract-to-permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee essential accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records for a large manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correctly recorded.
- Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Manage bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting processes and workflows.
- Analyze financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues in financial records.
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to support external reviews.
- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
