GENERAL FUNCTIONS + RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, including AP, AR, general ledger, account reconciliation, payroll/payroll taxes, sales taxes, accruals, intercompany transactions, and both internal and external reporting
- Review general ledger (G/L) activity to ensure all activity is properly recorded and reflected in G/L
- Prepare and analyze monthly, QTD, and YTD financial statements and related reports including, but not limited to, balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow statements, and budget-to-actual variance analyses
- Provide leadership and guidance to more junior team members within the department, and assist in the hiring, training, and retention of skilled accounting staff
- Responsible for treasury management, including the maintenance and reconciliation of store level and corporate bank accounts, safes, and cash forecasting
- Timely filing and payment of State and Local tax obligations; supports preparation of annual tax documents
- Evaluation and implementation of accounting and internal control systems and software
- Provide financial analyses as needed, including but not limited to capital planning, pricing decisions, COGS, labor patterns, inventory variances, and vendor contract negotiations
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- M.A. or M.B. A. preferred, but not required; C.P.A. certification preferred, but not required--- >Minimum of 4 years progressive experience in accounting/finance
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Multi-unit restaurant/hospitality or retail accounting experience preferred
- Excellent computer skills, and advanced proficiency with accounting and reporting systems and tools such as QuickBooks, MS Excel, and Restaurant365
- Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting/forecasting preferred, but not required
