Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term growth. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide a team of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and staff accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to inform strategic decision-making.
- Conduct financial audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries to maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee compensation.
- Monitor financial performance and conduct detailed financial analyses to support business growth.
- Implement and maintain accounting systems, including FinancialForce and Excel, to streamline processes.
- Foster a collaborative and team-oriented work environment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as FinancialForce and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong expertise in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close, account reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial analysis.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a focus on team collaboration.
- Ability to adapt to a hybrid work schedule, including occasional in-office presence every other Wednesday.
